Outside the firm
Chad Burnham
role not on file; signs as CDB Consulting, LLC — running the Zoom Phone Cutover Project for the Firm
Where things stand
- Consultant at CDB Consulting, LLC running the Firm's Zoom Phone Cutover Project; on site in Denver 2026-09-08 for the desk-phone installation.
- Cutover landed 2026-09-08: every desk phone swapped, old numbers reassigned, three-digit extension list published firm-wide.
- Of the two resubmitted ports (the 877 and the office fax line), one — order 2026090823375823913 — is confirmed for 2026-09-18 at 11:30 AM ET; Zoom's notice does not say which number. The other is still open. The 877 was still ringing into Voyant as of 2026-09-08.
- JT is a contact of record on both orders while Derek is out and forwarded the first confirmation to Chad within two minutes on 2026-09-11.
- Invoices Derek monthly (INV#1196 covered August 2026); JT is copied but not the approver. Tier assigned external by the sweep, confirm with JT.

Focused on
- One of the two resubmitted port orders is confirmed for 2026-09-18 11:30 AM ET. record
- Closing out the last two numbers on the cutover, the fax line and the 877, now that the desk phones are done; and getting end users self-sufficient on settings, voicemail greetings and PINs. record
- Moving the Zoom Phone Cutover from configuration to end-user readiness: training sessions and a guide to distribute, alongside closing out August billing. record
Asking me for
- Forward anything that arrives on the 877 or fax port requests while Derek is out; he added JT's address to both orders for this. Status: met 2026-09-11 for the first confirmation (order 2026090823375823913, port date 2026-09-18); continues until both orders complete. record (Notion: not pushed)
- Distribute the Zoom end-user guide to everyone, asked for the same day. Status: largely overtaken 2026-09-08 — he sent the settings, portal and voicemail guides to the whole
zoomphone@list himself; confirm with him whether anything further is expected. record · 2026-09-08 (Notion: not pushed) - openOptionally attend the Zoom User and Admin training sessions on his own time. Status: open, optional. record (Notion: not pushed)open
Concerns and frustrations
- The 877 port was cancelled with no reason he could find and was not visible as pending in Zoom: "I am paranoid it got cancelled." The number is still ringing into the outgoing provider, Voyant. record
Doable vs. not doable
- Telling which number the confirmed order covers → not doable from Zoom's notice; needs Chad or the Zoom admin portal. record
- Forwarding port correspondence → doable; it is attention, not work.
- Answering the voicemail PIN question → not doable by JT or by Chad; the PINs are system-generated and readable only in each user's own Zoom settings. record
- Distributing the end-user guide → doable; it is a link to Zoom's own support article, so the open question is timing and sender, not effort. record
How to work with them
- Says out loud when he is uneasy about something he cannot verify rather than reporting it as fine; the "I am paranoid it got cancelled" note preceded the confirmed cancellation by four hours. Take those flags as early warnings. record
- Splits a single email by recipient: the invoice section to Derek, the rollout section to JT. Read past the billing to find what is being asked of JT. record
- Phrases requests as soft parentheticals ("Could do today?"); a "thanks" reply does not answer them. record
Crossover
- touches Derek Eichenwald: if the confirmed order is the fax line, the 877 and its Voyant ring-through still depend on Derek finding the Voyant contact in his inbox. record
- touches Derek Eichenwald: with Derek out, Chad rerouted both port requests to JT's address and asked JT to forward what arrives, moving an item that had been Derek's onto JT for the duration. record
- touches Brandon Drespling: Brandon asked Chad for the voicemail PIN by email the same evening he asked JT the same question on Teams; Chad's answer is that nobody but the user can retrieve it. record
- touches Derek Eichenwald: Derek is the invoice recipient and approver for the Zoom Phone Cutover engagement; JT is copied and owns the end-user rollout pieces. record
Decisions log
- Resubmit both the 877 and the fax port rather than wait for an explanation, and route port correspondence through JT during Derek's absence. record
